How to Host an Accredited CME Online in India

Hosting an online CME webinar on a laptop

Continuing Medical Education keeps a practice current and a reputation strong, but the logistics have always been the hard part. Booking a venue, chasing registrations on WhatsApp, printing certificates, and reconciling attendance afterwards can take more effort than preparing the talk itself. Running CME online, or as a hybrid, removes most of that overhead, and it widens your audience well beyond who can travel on the day.

Decide the format first

Your format shapes everything else. An online webinar reaches the most doctors for the least effort and cost. An in-person workshop is better for hands-on skills. A hybrid combines both: a room for those who can attend and a stream for those who cannot. Pick the one that matches your topic and your audience, then build the rest of the plan around it.

Plan the essentials before you announce

  1. Topic and faculty: a focused subject and named speakers your audience trusts.
  2. Date, time, and duration: respect clinical schedules; evenings and weekends fill better.
  3. CME credits: confirm how many credits the activity carries and how attendance will be evidenced.
  4. Capacity and price: free fills fastest; a small fee can improve show-up rates for premium sessions.

Build a landing page that converts

A single, clear public page does most of the selling: the title, the agenda, the speakers, the date and joining details, and one obvious way to register. Doctors decide quickly, so put the credits, the cost, and the call to action where they cannot be missed. A page that also ranks in search will keep bringing registrations long after your first announcement.

Open registration as early as you can, even before the agenda is final. Early sign-ups give you a list to remind, and the count itself is social proof that encourages others to join.

Promote, then remind

Most no-shows are not lost interest, they are forgotten dates. Announce the event to your network, then let automated reminders do the heavy lifting: a note a few days before, and another an hour before with the joining link. Email plus WhatsApp together reaches doctors where they actually look.

Run the session and capture attendance

On the day, the joining link should reach registered attendees automatically, and attendance should be recorded as people join rather than collected on paper. Clean attendance data is what makes the next step, certificates and credits, effortless instead of a week of admin.

Issue certificates and credits automatically

Every attendee should receive a certificate of participation and the CME credits the activity carries, without you assembling anything by hand. A certificate with a number and a public way to verify it is more credible and saves you fielding "can you resend mine" requests for months afterwards.

The science is the hard part. Registrations, reminders, attendance, and certificates should not be.

ConsultPro CME Playbook

Let the platform do the operations

ConsultPro turns this whole playbook into a few clicks: publish a branded event page, open free or paid registration, send automated email and WhatsApp reminders, and issue certificates and CME credits to every attendee, online or in person. Your event also appears in a public CME directory so the right doctors can find it. Spend your time on the content, and let the platform handle the rest.
